Tenants may have the choice of evacuating or remaining in the building during a volcanic eruption. Weather conditions, location of the volcano, wind direction, (etc.) all play a part in determining the best action to take.<\/p><p><strong>USGS recommends the following actions:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Know what ash is and how to deal with it.<\/li><li>Use dust masks, eye protection and keep skin covered. A wet handkerchief can substitute for the dust mask.<\/li><li>Do not drive during and right after ash-fall as ash is harmful to vehicles.<\/li><li>If you have a respiratory ailment, avoid contact with any amount of ash.
